We do not breed our rainbow layers for exact duplication of a bird that will lay an egg that looks like what it hatched from. It is important to me, that my layers get to roam around their yard. This is why I do not guarantee specific egg colors. To do that, I would either have to pen my birds up all the time, or limit the colors that I DO produce- and what fun would that be????? Here are some basic color possibilities for my flock-if a Legbar (blue egg layer) is covered by a Marans, and that egg hatches as a hen, she will likely lay a green egg (F1 Olive Egger.) If a pale green layer is covered by a Marans, and hatches as a hen she will likely lay a darker green or olive colored egg, but she could also lay a brown egg. If that same hen is covered by my Leghorn and that egg hatches as a hen, she may lay a spearmint or blue-green colored egg. *Speckles and heavy blooms are also a good possibility from my hatching eggs, but are not guaranteed. Every hatching egg shipment is submitted for NPIP paperwork (Form VS 9-3) to stay in compliance with state regulations. If shipment to your state is denied for any reason, I will notify you immediately, and refund in full will be given. |
