All of our Silkie Houses are color specific, and the birds that reside in them are chosen for best qualities and characteristics in hopes of continuously improving our flock.

Silkies are the primary resident of our Fancy Butt Hut here at Shady Paddock. They are housed with our Showgirls and are kept entirely separate from our barnyard birds. Our goal is to breed toward Standard of Perfection and to continuously improve the birds in our breeding houses. We offer quality chicks and birds in addition to hatching eggs. We currently have black, white, blue, splash, and paint birds in our color specific breeding houses.
These guys are on a mini pellet diet. They also enjoy fresh veggie and fruit scraps from the kitchen, as well as dehydrated grubs. We use poultry specific AnimalEO essential oils in their water for an extra health boost and a natural way to help fight off internal parasites. They are checked regularly for external parasites and are provided DE in their dust bathing areas.

*Fertilized eggs are a collection from all of our color houses and are available for shipping or local pick up.
You may get silkie x silkie and/or silkie x showgirl in your shipment. Silkie x showgirl will either produce a full silkie chicken OR a showgirl chicken. There is a possibility that you may hatch a stripper. I do not breed stripper x showgirl or stripper x stripper because of the potential for excessive lack of feathering in the offspring. Believe me, no one wants to see a naked chicken butt!! Egg Prices-Hatching eggs are $25 per half dozen, $50 per dozen (I do include extras when they are available). I take reservations for eggs, and those are filled in order of payment receipt. Shipping is an additional $25 or $60 for up to 12 eggs in the same shipment depending if you choose Priority or Priority Express, Please note-every hatching egg shipment is submitted for NPIP paperwork (Form VS 9-3) to stay in compliance with state regulations. If shipment to your state is denied for any reason, I will notify you immediately, and refund in full will be given. |
